Jeffrey Hidalgo is one of the Philippines’ premier ballad singers. Hidalgo started out as a member of the internationally known group called SMOKEY MOUNTAIN. Jeffrey did the solo on the song, CAN THIS BE LOVE? which became part of why his group became famous worldwide. Jeffrey Hidalgo is also a composer and lyricist, with BABY BE MINE as one of his songs that made it to the finals of the Metropop Song Festival in 2000. Jeffrey also composed most if not all of the songs in his Jeffrey 05 CD album.

Jeffrey Hidalgo also did several movies and theater shows which makes him an experienced actor. He recently did NARS, an independent film about Filipino nurses and was part of the hot and sexy stageplay, ALL ABOUT MEN, The Penis Talk in 2004.

And Jeffrey Hidalgo will be portraying the role of “Nelson” in this environmental movie Biak na Bato. Nelson worked in Villarama Mining and Developement Corporation as one of the miners. He is one of the survivor in rock slide happened eighteen years ago in the mining site. He was saved by his good friend Cezar.

Aleck Bovick also participated in the ABS-CBN show Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition, where she was one of the fourteen celebrity housmates. She made a sacrifice for giving her old father Php100,000 in return, she shaved her bald along with fellow housemate Rico. She was evicted from the show last March 11, 2006 after receiving 13.6 percent of the people’s vote and became the first female celebrity evicted from the house. Her bestfriend in the house is Gretchen Malalad.

And now, she will be portraying the role of  “Remedios“, a miner’s wife with a stunded love from the past. In the beggining she was supporting the mining activity in Biak na Bato and fights Nieve’s advocacy but in the end, she will realized the importance of Nieve’s battle and joined hands with her advocacy when her own little daughter died from the flashflood caused by the ecological in balanced from the mining activities.

YNEZ VENERACION will be portraying the role of a widow environmentalist, NIEVES. A heroic return in Biak na bato to face the pain of stunted love and gloomy incident eighteen years ago and determined to battle against the prominent and very influential mining operator in Biak na Bato. Her mission is to instigate & encourage people to join in her crusade to save Biak na Bato, aiming to give awareness to the community on the importance of mother nature and how mining activities have led to the desecration of a historical shrine.

YNEZ VENERACION, a Gawad Urian Award 2000 Best Supporting Actress for her movie Sa Paraiso ni Efren along with Anton Bernardo, Anna Capri and Allan Paule.
