Jeffrey Hidalgo is one of the Philippines’ premier ballad singers. Hidalgo started out as a member of the internationally known group called SMOKEY MOUNTAIN. Jeffrey did the solo on the song, CAN THIS BE LOVE? which became part of why his group became famous worldwide. Jeffrey Hidalgo is also a composer and lyricist, with BABY BE MINE as one of his songs that made it to the finals of the Metropop Song Festival in 2000. Jeffrey also composed most if not all of the songs in his Jeffrey 05 CD album.

Jeffrey Hidalgo also did several movies and theater shows which makes him an experienced actor. He recently did NARS, an independent film about Filipino nurses and was part of the hot and sexy stageplay, ALL ABOUT MEN, The Penis Talk in 2004.

And Jeffrey Hidalgo will be portraying the role of “Nelson” in this environmental movie Biak na Bato. Nelson worked in Villarama Mining and Developement Corporation as one of the miners. He is one of the survivor in rock slide happened eighteen years ago in the mining site. He was saved by his good friend Cezar.

Aleck Bovick also participated in the ABS-CBN show Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition, where she was one of the fourteen celebrity housmates. She made a sacrifice for giving her old father Php100,000 in return, she shaved her bald along with fellow housemate Rico. She was evicted from the show last March 11, 2006 after receiving 13.6 percent of the people’s vote and became the first female celebrity evicted from the house. Her bestfriend in the house is Gretchen Malalad.

And now, she will be portraying the role of “Remedios“, a miner’s wife with a stunded love from the past. In the beggining she was supporting the mining activity in Biak na Bato and fights Nieve’s advocacy but in the end, she will realized the importance of Nieve’s battle and joined hands with her advocacy when her own little daughter died from the flashflood caused by the ecological in balanced from the mining activities.

Her mission is to instigate & encourage people to join in her crusade to save Biak na Bato, aiming to give awareness to the community on the importance of mother nature and how mining activities have led to the desecration of a historical shrine.

YNEZ VENERACION, a Gawad Urian Award 2000 Best Supporting Actress for her movie Sa Paraiso ni Efren along with Anton Bernardo, Anna Capri and Allan Paule.

Ralph or Rael was a proud Bulakeño to be introduced in this environmental film as one of the forrest rangers “Eman” along with the lead actor Alex Castro and newbie John Christoper Cabudol. He is 17 years old raise and born in Malolos City, Bulacan. He was passed in the audition held at Hiyas ng Bulakan Convetion Center in Malolos were he showed his acting skills.

Ralph Ellis Lopez is one of the most promising Bulakeños with his sweet and calm attitude, first rate talent, mesmerizing eyes, star qualities and X-factor, surely he will make it to top.

Alex Castro is one of the famous Bulakeños who made name in the showbiz industry. A Dennis Trillo look-a-like, a protégé of producer Roselle Monteverde-Teo and DMV Entertainment boss Manny Valera, the 22-year-old actor/politician was recently featured in the movie “Manay Po 2″ of Regal Films were he portray the role of John Pratt’s love interest and he was introduced in the movie “My BestFriend’s GirlFriend” with Richard Gutierrez and Marian Rivera also from Regal Films and GMA Films. He’s also busy doing print and commercial modeling… He was seen from a huge billboards and TV commercials such as Globe Telecom, Coca Cola, Banco De Oro and more…

And aside from being an actor and model Alex Castro , at the same time is a public official. A councilor of Municipality of Marilao in the Province of Bulacan. He was a former President of Sangguniang Kabataan of Marilao and active officer member of National Movement of Young Legistrators, Philippine Councilor’s League , NYCCL, Jaycees and Barkadahang Bulakeño.

When this environmental movie entitled: BIAK NA BATO (Split Rock) was offered to him, we was very happy considering him as one of the lead cast. First, its was an environmental movie with a heart warming and based on the true story… Second, it was a Bulacan movie and he really want to contribute his talent to showcase to everybody how consistent and determined every Bulakeños in saving the most significant and historical place in the Philippine history, the Biak na Bato National Park.

Kristine Mae Nieto is one of the pride of the Province of Bulacan, bringing home the award as the 1st runner-up in the recent BE BENCH Model Search. From that time, she was become famous and visible in television programs at kapamilya network (ABS-CBN). Kristtine is now busy preparing for the up coming denim and underwear fashion of BENCH entitled: BLACKOUT and she is currently a contract artist of VIVA FILMS. She’s definitely a Star of Bulacan…

And being the pride of Bulakeños, she is now facing expectations and pressures especially on her up coming Bulacan independent movie entitled: BIAK NA BATO (Split Rock) were she will be portraying the role of SHIELA – a liberated and beautiful daughter of NIEVES (Chin-Chin Gutierrez).

On our interview, we ask her on the reasons accepting this movie?

KRISTINE: ” I accept this movie, not just for exposure though I really want to have a movie… Im so happy to be a part of Biak na Bato movie… Gusto ko rin makagawa ng environmental movie to show to the people what are the importance of our environment to us… Instead of taking good care of it, inaabuso ito… I want them to realized what they did to our natural resources…”

Kristtine also told us: “Sobrang saya ko kasi i never ever expected na mangyayari ito. To be one of the lead cast is a big big break in my career… Sobrang thankful ako kay Direk Paolo Buera sa pagpili sken and syempre kay God to let this happen… “
